Rose Marcario is President and CEO of Patagonia, which she joined in 2008 as COO and CFO. She created the company’s first in-house venture fund, oversaw the development and creation of Patagonia Provisions, a regenerative organic food company, and has championed the benefit corporation movement, resulting in Patagonia becoming the first legal benefit corporation in California. Rose was honored as a Champion of Change for Patagonia’s family-friendly work policies, and she created Time to Vote, a movement for CEOs committed to giving their employees the time, flexibility and resources to cast their votes in US elections.
Patagonia was named in the 2018 top 10 innovative companies in the world for its work in regenerative organic agriculture, activism and green supply-chain innovation. In 2019, Patagonia was recognized with a prestigious UN Champion of the Earth Award for its sustainability and advocacy for the protection of the planet’s fragile resources. With Marcario’s leadership, Patagonia has deepened its commitment to environmental activism and using business as a force for good.
